“Motherhood changes everything”
Adriana Trigiani
Motherhood is often misunderstood. Maybe that’s because it comes in a lot of forms and while we may think we know what a Mom should be we’re probably wrong. Mom’s come in all shapes and sizes and all personality types. Mothers give birth or adopt or become a second mother or fill a role of mother for those who need one. There is no standard or normal or usual.
Often motherhood is spoken of as a job – well, that makes sense it can be a lot of work – but it’s more than that. Mothering is joyful, awe-inspiring, rewarding, active, messy, sad, frustrating, and the list goes on. The biggest challenge can be embracing it for all it is – the good, the bad, and the ugly.
On Mother’s Day, we take time to demonstrate gratitude those who have mothered us. Thank those who are mothering others. Appreciate those who make it their vocation to nurture others in a mothering way. Most particularly, on this mother’s day take a moment to cherish your motherhood journey.
