Almost 28 years ago I started my career serving children and parents. As a nanny for families, I was truly blessed to be part of so many lives. Then in 2008, I started the shift to serving families with newborns, particularly specializing in preemies and multiples, as an Elite Newborn Care Specialist (NCS).  It’s my aim to work with parents so they gain confidence and feel supported through those first challenging months.

When I started my business I searched for a name that reflected who I am as a family advocate. Since I began working with parents and children I have always been known as Nanny Marly – so why change now. While I work primarily with newborns and their parents, at the heart of my work is the Nanny Marly focus on serving families. My mission statement reads, “Nanny Marly serves families with newborns, especially multiples and preemies, providing customized support based on parents’ needs.”  It’s the customization based on the specific needs of parents and babies that make this work so exciting and rewarding. Each family gets my full attention and expertise. Whether you are welcoming your first baby or preemie multiples or your third child, your experience is unique and I’m honored to work with you.

I completed my certified professional nanny training through National Nanny Academy, Inc. almost 28 years ago. In 2015 I was honored to be selected as the International Nanny Association’s (INA) Nanny of the Year. This award is presented annually as recognition of the personal achievements of a working nanny. INA’s Nanny of the Year™ serves as an example of the best kind of nanny and represents a positive role model for our industry and association.

When I began to specialize in newborns I looked for the best training available from experts. I have earned the Advanced Newborn Care Specialist certificate and I recently completed the Master Elite Newborn Care Specialist training program.  A Master NCS is the highest level of training and expertise currently available to NCS and one that requires dedication, focus, and determination.  This certification is only available through the Newborn Care Solutions Elite Training Program. I am continuously furthering my education to remain current in this quickly changing field.

Giving back to the industry that I love is important to me. Nannies and Newborn Care Specialists often work in isolated environments. Supporting and mentoring one another is impactful, not only to the nanny or NCS but to the families they serve. This is why I’m thrilled to be a Mentor through INA and Newborn Care Solutions to help educate other nannies and NCS.

All of my past and current service to families and to the industry I love has gone into building Nanny Marly – Master Newborn Care Specialist. I feel that this is most clearly defined in my mission statement.
