Getting baby to sleep through the night results in better for sleep for everyone in the house. So true, but not always so simple. Here are a few tips to keep in mind.
- Dark Room – Helps the baby learn its circadian rhythm since they are not born with this.
- No Mobiles Over Crib – A mobile over the crib is too stimulating. We want them to learn this is their sleeping room. Mobiles are great over a changing table.
- White Noise Machine – This is not habit forming and it helps soothe them.
- Swaddles – Babies love to be swaddled! If done correctly they feel safe and snuggled.
- Small Fan – Studies have shown that a small rotating fan can reduce the risk of SIDS by creating continuous moving air so the room does not get stuffy.
- Sickness – Any time the baby is sick it trumps all the sleep training you are doing.
